Dedicated Fleet/ Drop-Trailer Process
- 24-48 hours in ADVANCE: Request a shipment in OnePortal, estimate materials/qty’s
- Since you have a dedicated fleet, we recommend you develop a routine to create future shipments every week and have shipments in ready-to-load status/green ready to use at all times. You can always update the available date if you need to push a shipment out or if not all returns for the week were uses.
- Regularly monitor warehouse inventory. For dedicated, you can expect a 24-hour turnaround for carrier assignment. If you notice your inventory is getting high and the shipments scheduled in the step above won't suffice, schedule an ad-hoc shipment and expect to have a carrier assignment in 24 hours.
- Once the scheduled shipments have a carrier assigned (green status), you can finalize the materials/quantities/RA’s
- If you have a drop trailer, you can now load it.
- Confirm the physical contents of the trailer and Print the BOL; the shipment cannot be edited after this point
- Again, this shipment and BOL can be printed as soon as it turns green. You do not have to wait for the requested date. As previously mentioned, you will have a carrier assignment 24 hours after scheduling the shipment. This BOL/shipment can be used BEFORE the available date.
- Provide the paperwork to the warehouse and driver.
